 The Marshal Service on the front line of exercising sovereignty for the Cherokee people.

There are currently approximately 35 Marshals that work and live within the 14 county jurisdictional base. Their training includes 16 weeks at F.L.E.T.C. (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) in Artesia, New Mexico. Many of the Marshals hold C.L.E.E.T. (Council Law Enforcement Education Training) certifications also.

 

GOALS

 

 1.  SOVEREIGNTY:  Maintain and increase law enforcement within our 14 counties.  Protecting Cherokee citizens rights and liberties through agreements with other agencies.

2.  COMMUNITY:  Involvement with block parties, meetings, trainings, and school presentations to promote self reliancy, strong role models for youth.

3.  LANGUAGE:  Community policing, community events, display pride for everything Cherokee, Youth encouragement for Cherokee Language.

4.  JOBS:  Promoting Business opportunities by providing strong community safety and security.
